The Arizona Crate Late Model Series made their 4th showing this weekend at USA with a 6 car field. The front row of the nights first and only Heat race was made up of new commer James Siers in the #02 and the #23 of Bucky Andrews. When the flag dropped it was the 23 of Andrews to get the jump from the outside and never looked back. Andrews went flag to flag for what would be the start of his first and perfect night of racing. Following Andrews across the line in the heat race was Chavez Jr. and Meitzner.

The line up for the main event was done by a redraw of pills which left the #02 of James Siers and the #94 of James Chavez Jr. to head the field to the green. As the flag fell it was Siers who took the point for the first lap then a pass to the outside by Chavez Jr. allowed him to take the top spot followed by the #00 Of Mike Meitzner and 23 of Bucky Andrews. As the laps went on a spin by the leader Chavez Jr. which collected the 00 of Meitzner brought out the only caution of the night. This left Andrews all alone up front and clear track all around. As they crossed the line Andrews captured his first career late model win by 10 car lengths followed by Meitzner and a returning old timer Jamie Throckmorton Came across in 3rd.

As the Arizona Crate Late Model Series rolled back into USA RACE PARK the man to beat was The #12a of Adam Crippen, and did it show during the nights first and only heat race. When the green flag dropped on the 7 car field it was Darryl Fischer in the #31 that took the early lead from the outside pole followed by pole sitter James Chavez Jr. and Mike Meitzner. As the top three got into a heated battle Adam Crippen Slowly made his move passed the 3rd and 2nd place cars of Chavez Jr. and Meitzner and set his eyes on the 31 of Fischer. When the checked flag fell it was the 12 of Crippen followed by Chavez Jr. and Fischer.

For the Main Event the cars lined up how they finished in the heat race with the front row being made up of Adam Crippen And James Chavez Jr. When the green flag dropped it was a drag race down the front straight between Crippen and Chavez Jr.  As they headed into turn one Chavez Jr. took the lead from the top side and never looked back. The threat from Crippen was always there the whole race within 5 cars lengths. As Chavez Jr. and Crippen held on to the first and second spot Meitzner and Fischer dueled it out for the 3rd spot. A late race caution bunched the field back up for the only restart of the night. Off the line Chavez Jr and Crippen took off where they left off followed close by both Fischer and Meitzner. As the checked flag fell on for what was his first Late model Main event win Chavez Jr. took it by 3 car lengths of Crippen followed by Meitzner, Fischer, And Bucky Andrews.

The Arizona Crate Late Model Series had a great showing Saturday night. Everyone encluding the fans and drivers loved the topless race. With the crate class being delt a very low hand, they suceeded with great pride at the end of the night. In the nights heat race it saw the strong run of the number 31 Darryl Fisher take the checkers with Adam Crippen Right behind him. the night ended a little to early for the 26 of Larry Fredrickson which had a scary moment when he rolled his mount down the back stretch. Larry walked away but the car was toast. The main event saw the front row consist of the 00 of Mike Meitzner and the 99 of Doug paxson Making his first start in the Crate Series. When the green flag dropped it was Adam Crippen comming for the inside second row to take to lead followed by Meitzner and Chavez Jr. A early race spin by Meitzner dropped him to the rear of the field with no caution produce. That let the 94 of Chavez Jr. and the 31 of Fisher into the 2nd and 3rd spot to try and reel in the #12 going for 2 in a row, but no one had anything for crippen as when the checker flag fell it was once again Adam Crippen taking the show by a good 5 car links over Chavez Jr. and Fisher in 3rd.

AZ CRATE LATE MODEL SERIES

As Week Number 3 Comes To A Close On Waiting For An Answer On When The Series Next Race Would Be, The Question Remains "When Will The Next Race Be?".

To Fill Every One In That Does Not Know What Has Gone On Here It Is.

The AZ Crate Late Model Series First Race Was March 28th 2009. Now Before We Even Hit The Track On That Date Our Whole Schedule Was Taken Off Of The Tracks Schedule. We Then Had A Meeting With Anyone That Wanted To Come Back On March 21st 2009 Just To See How All The New Cars Were Coming And Such. A Promoter For USA Race Park Was There Also To Answer Any Question And Talk With Us As well.  At That Meeting The Promoter Stated He Would Be Happy With The Crate Class Showing Up With 8 Cars On The First Night. Also That We Would Know When Our Next Race Was By That Tuesday The 24th Of March. Everyone Left That Meeting With A Better Feeling Knowing USA Race Park Would Give The Crate Class The Chance It Needed To Grow.  The 24th Of March Came And Went With No Update What So Ever.

The Series First Race Came And We Had 9 Cars Show Up To Race.  Now Remember That’s More Then What The Promoter Said He Would BE Happy With. So There Should Be No Disappointment There. At The Race The Crates Were Not Given Hot Laps Before The Race Because The Track Said Not Enough Help Was Put Into Getting The Track Prepped By The Crate Cars. Even Though Every Car That Was There Was On The Track. Next The Series Was Told At Our Prior Meeting We Would Have A 15 Lap Main Until So Many Cars Started The Race. The Series Was Given A 12 Lap Main Event For Reasons Unknown.

The Heat Race And Main Event Was A Great Race And Showed Why These Crate Cars Are So Good To Watch. Very Very Competive. So Here It Is Now, April 9th 2009 And Still No Word As To When The Next Series Race Will Be And Along With That No Explanation Has Been Given As To Why There Has Not Been A Response To So Many Inputs From Fans Drivers And Series Officials. The Big Question On Everyone’s Mind Is Why Did The Races Get Taken Off In The First Place And Not Put Back On. Is The Track Scared Of A Series Growing? Who Knows, Except The Ones That Give No Response. So As The Fight Continues To Get The Series Races Back On, I Will Update The Website As To What Has Happened And What Is Going On. If Any One Has Any Questions On Any Of This Feel Free To Email The Webmaster At webmaster@azcratelates.com  Also Sign Up For Our Forum For Other Updates And News.

The First Race of The Season Produces 9 Crate Cars Which Was A Better Than Expected Turn Out. All 9 Cars Were Setup To Run Just One 6 Lap Heat Race With Denis Lickliter And James Chavez Jr On The Front Row.  When The Green Flag Dropped Chavez Jr. Jumped Out Front With Daryl Fischer And Adam Crippen Following Close Behind. It Became A Pretty Calm First Heat Race With Chavez Jr. Taking The Heat Race Followed By A Hard Charging Daryl Fischer And Adam Crippen Comming In 3rd.

For The 12 Lap Main Event The Top Four Were Inverted From The Heat Race Which Put Bob Cramb On the Pole And Adam Crippen On The Outside Of Him. When the green Flag Dropped It Was A Drag Race For The Whole Field Down The Front Straight And Through The First Turn. Down The Back Straight It Was the 12a Of Adam Crippen Taking Over The Top Spot With Bob Cramb And Daryl Fischer The Top 3. As Crippen Started To Pull Away Fischer Was Able To Get Around The 17 Of Bob Cramb And Begin To Hunt Down That 12a Car. Half Way Through Caution Was Brought Out By A Spinnign Bob Cramb Which Allowed The Field To Bunch Back Up And Get Another Shot At Adam Crippen.  When The Race Resumed It Was Crippen,Fischer,Chavez Jr. Shortly After The Green Flag Ted Robinson Showed His Power Moving Into The 3rd Spot Putting Chavez Jr Back To 4th. As The Checkered Flag Fell It Was Adam Crippen Taking The Win Followed By Daryl Fischer And Ted Robinson.
